THE RESEARCH BEHIND THE GUIDE

10 ways to find
your next night.

A comparison of ten listings and editorial websites covering Bristol, selected for their different uses.

There is no single complete calendar. These sources cover different parts of the city’s music and nightlife, so use a combination. This is an editorial selection, not a measured ranking of traffic, quality or ticket sales. Research date: 21 October 2026.

01 / Independent club nights and local discovery

Headfirst Bristol

A useful first stop for Bristol-specific electronic music listings. Read the individual event page for the promoter, venue and ticket conditions.

02 / Club line-ups and ticket options

Skiddle

Compare advertised line-ups and entry times. Headline ticket prices can describe one allocation, so check the ticket you can actually buy.

Browse Skiddle ↗
03 / Electronic music by date and genre

Resident Advisor

Use its Bristol event filters to narrow electronic music choices. Follow through to the event and organiser before making plans.

Browse Resident Advisor ↗
04 / Artist and venue discovery

DICE

Search Bristol, then the artist or venue. Its event pages and app help distinguish live shows from late-night events.

Browse DICE ↗
05 / Student parties, themed nights and club tickets

Fatsoma

Bristol listings include student promotions and themed parties. Read entry deadlines and whether a ticket covers one event or a package.

Browse Fatsoma ↗
06 / Parties and wider nightlife events

Eventbrite

A supplementary search for parties and social events. Check the organiser, exact location and date: the category is broader than clubs.

Browse Eventbrite ↗
07 / Visitor planning and neighbourhood context

Visit Bristol

Useful for combining a night out with other Bristol activities. Its area and accessibility guides add practical context to ticket listings.

Browse Visit Bristol ↗
08 / Local music reporting and scene context

Bristol24/7

09 / Gigs, comedy and touring shows

Ents24

Useful when your night out starts with a performance rather than a club. Select dates carefully; results can include shows well into next year.

How we use these sources

We use event listings to identify venues, music styles and where to look for current programmes, and local editorial and visitor sources for neighbourhood context. The planning guides add practical comparisons and original advice. They do not reproduce another publisher’s articles or promise that all ten sources are scraped automatically.

When listings disagree

Follow the venue or organiser’s current announcement for the exact address, line-up, date and cancellation status. Check that the ticket seller is linked by the organiser. Search snippets and old articles can remain visible after a change. If a price is unavailable at checkout, do not assume an older advertised tier can still be bought.

What gets updated automatically?

The food-and-drink feed has a daily 7am Bristol-time refresh. AI-led nightlife discovery requires a separately configured API key; these editorial planning guides are reviewed separately. We show source dates rather than treating a fresh page load as a fresh fact check.
