The Bristol Fringe
The Bristol Fringe is a Victorian pub at 32 Princess Victoria Street in Clifton Village (BS8 4BZ), known for jazz. Bristol24/7's feature on the origins of jazz at the Fringe says landlady Sylvia Dagallier created a dedicated music room in the back of what used to be the Greyhound public house, seating up to about forty people.
According to Bristol24/7, Jon Taylor runs a jazz club in that back room called Fringe Jazz, meeting on Wednesday evenings. An earlier Bristol24/7 review described a programme of jazz on Sundays, open mic nights on Tuesdays and small gigs on most Fridays and Saturdays, and CAMRA's listing includes live music among the pub's facilities.
Times and nights change, so check the upcoming gigs we have listed below, soonest first, and the pub's own listings before you go.
