Ask about the whole visit

Accessibility is specific to the person, event and room. A venue description saying accessible is only a starting point. Ask about step-free entry, the route to the performance space, accessible toilets, seating or viewing areas, and how to leave at the end. Explain the arrangements you need rather than relying on a general label.

Check with the venue before paying

Visit Bristol provides accessibility planning resources, and venue listings may link to dedicated access pages. Confirm companion-ticket arrangements and any booking process directly with the organiser. Ask whether different rooms have different access and whether a ticketed party changes the usual layout. Do not assume a live show and a club event at the same address use identical facilities.

Plan arrival and communication

Save the venue contact details and any agreed arrangements with your ticket. Check drop-off points, queues, cloakroom access and whether staff need notice of your arrival. If lighting, sound levels or crowding affect your visit, ask for the information you need about that event. The profiles below are research starting points, not a certification that a venue meets any particular access requirement.
