Motion

Motion is Bristol's best-known big club, now in a new home at Unit 2, Victoria Terrace in St Philips, a stone's throw from its old site.
For 19 years Motion ran in a former skate park on Avon Street near Temple Meads, where it regularly featured in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs poll and hosted headliners from The Chemical Brothers to Chase & Status and Adam Beyer. It closed that site in July 2025 with a 24-hour "Final Dance" party with Just Jack.
The club reopened at Victoria Terrace on 10 October 2025 with its Momentum series, which champions local artists and independent brands. The new venue holds about 1,000 people, and SBTRKT, Y U QT, Chloé Robinson and Luuk Van Dijk have played there.
The same team also runs Document, the 3,000-capacity former records warehouse behind Cabot Circus.
