The Old Market Assembly

The Old Market Assembly is a bar, restaurant and bakery at 25 West Street in Old Market, Bristol (BS2 0DF), in a former Victorian bank. It is part of The Assemblies group with The Canteen on Stokes Croft and No.1 Harbourside, according to Bristol24/7.

At the back of the ground floor is The Wardrobe Theatre, a studio theatre of about 100 seats. The theatre's own history says the company was set up in May 2011 by a group of Bristol artists in a storeroom above the White Bear pub on St Michael's Hill, and moved into The Old Market Assembly in December 2015. Coverage of the building by Bristol24/7 and The Bristol Magazine notes that the theatre's auditorium occupies the space where people once went down to dance to DJs when the building was a cabaret bar, and the theatre marked ten years in Old Market in 2025.
