The Canteen
The Canteen is a bar, cafe and free live music venue in Hamilton House at 80 Stokes Croft, St Pauls (BS1 3QY). Bristol24/7's Venue of the Month feature says it opened in 2009 as the first of three sites in The Assemblies group, alongside No.1 Harbourside and Old Market Assembly, and describes a room where the kitchen and the dancefloor share the same space.
The venue describes itself as offering affordable home-cooked food, free live music every night, space for local art and a place to meet. Bristol24/7 notes occasional Tuesday jam nights and says The Comet Is Coming played there before they became well known; after the pandemic it moved to an all-vegetarian menu and installed a new sound system.
